NO ZLATAN
Zlatan was rested against Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday and should have started today, but an hour before kickoff Manchester United announced Zlatan would not play due to illness.

MATA SCORED THE OPENER IN THE SECOND HALF
Except for Zlatan (ill), Rojo (injured) and Carrick (rested) Mourinho basically played his first team (Martial on the bench though). Many expected an "easy" game for United like against Reading but Hull, with newly appointed manager Marcos Silva, put up a good fight in the first half and it was 0-0 at halftime. In the 56th minute Mkhitaryan won a header duel in the box and the ball went to Mata, who tappied it in the open net. 1-0 to Manchester United.
FELLAINI GAVE UNITED A NICE POSITION FOR THE RETURN
Mourinho replaced goalscorer Mata with Marouane Fellaini in the 79th minute and with three minutes left he paid his manager back. Darmian crossed into the box and Fellaini strongly lobheaded the ball over Jakupovic. 2-0 to Manchester United.
Manchester United won 2-0 which was their 9th straight win in all competitions. The second semifinal is played in Hull on January 26.
