ROTTERDAM.
Manchester United lost the first game in the Europa League group stage against Feyenoord.
Neither team had scored until ten minutes left when Trindade scored the gamewinner in front of the excited home fans.
Mourinho rotated the Man Utd-squad heavily and Zlatan only played the last 28 minutes.
NO ZLATAN IN THE STARTING XI
Since Man Utd finished 5th in the previous Premier League-season they are playing Europa League instead of the prestigous Champions League this season. That meant José Mourinho gave several players their first starting spot yet and Marcus Rashford started up front instead of Zlatan.
POOR PERFORMANCE BY MAN UTD
Alot of Man Utd-fans hoped for a great release from Rashford and others but they didn't perform well at all in the first hour, so Mourinho took off the entire front three and put on Zlatan, Depay and Young at 0-0 in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately that didn't help, instead Feyenoord stole the three points.
LATE GAMEWINNER BY FEYENOORD
Because in the 79th minute Jörgensen got the ball to the right of United's box and crossed low into Trindade who shot directly with his left and De Gea couldn't stop it. 1-0 to Feyenoord. Man Utd did what they could to equalize but the damage was done, Feyenoord won 1-0.
Started the game on the bench and was put on in the 63rd minute.
Zlatan only played 28 minutes and wasn't able to make his mark in this game.
He played physical against the centrebacks in Feyenoord when United put longer balls when both trying to get the winning goal at 0-0 and even more so when Feyenoord had scored their goal.
He had a header wide, a shot blocked from outside the box and his best chance was a freekick from 25 meter, but his decent hit on the ball was too straight on Jones in Feyenoord's goal.
