BARCELONA.
He was back on his old stadium and with the group win at stake, it was a fired up Zlatan who entered Camp Nou. And it couldn't have started better. Already after 15 minutes Zlatan scored and gave PSG hope. Barcelona turned out to be too strong though and won 3-1.
– We made it to the next round. That's what counts, Zlatan said after the game.
It was a game which Barcelona controlled and PSG counter attacked in. PSG played a great first half with clean, sharp passing and efficient counter attacks. Barcelona passed the ball alot but didn't create that much. Zlatan made it 1-0 in the 15th minute, but then Messi and Neymar scored and Barca lead in half time. In the second Barcelona were the better team and Suarez decided the game in the 77th minute.
15 MINUTES IN - ZLATAN-GOAL!
After a somewhat waiting first 15 minutes, PSG set up a beautiful attack. Zlatan passed to Lucas on the right who advanced and several PSG-players stormed in to the penalty area. Lucas found Matuidi who one touched it back to Ibra, who struck immediately with his left, low and hard, no chance for Ter Stegen, 0-1 to PSG.
QUICK REPLY BY A CERTAIN MESSI
PSG couldn't hold on to the league for too long. Only four minutes later, Silva misjudged a ball and Suarez set up Messi, who put 1-1 in an almost open net behind Sirigu. The game was back to where it started.
SHARP FIRST HALF BY IBRA
Barcelona controlled most of the possession in the first half but PSG were very dangerous in counter attacks as soon as they won the ball. Lucas got a superchance in the 29th minute but the ball went just inches wide. Zlatan looked very sharp and focused in his passing and didn't make many mistakes. The goal was his only shot though.
NEYMAR TOOK THE LEAD BEFORE HALF TIME
PSG was probably satisfied with 1-1 and defended pretty well in the late stages of the first half. But in the 41th minute, Neymar got the ball in the middle and shot a beautiful goal, 2-1 to Barca which also was the halftime result.
MINDGAMES IN SECOND HALF
With the 2-1-lead and knowing how dangerous PSG's counter attacks were in the first, there was no need for Barca to storm forward. And with PSG still playing defensively and waiting for the opportunities, the second half was quite passive. Lucas had a great chance in the 62nd minute but Ter Stegen saved and Maxwell missed the rebound.
SUAREZ DECIDED IT
Except Lucas, no chances were created until the 77th minute. This time for Barca.
Xavi passed Neymar, who shot but Sirigu saved. PSG couldn't clear the rebound, so Luiz Suarez put the ball in the open net, 3-1 to Barca. It was new signing Suarez first goal on Camp Nou. Barcelona kept attacking after the goal and were closer to 4-1 than PSG's 3-2, to be honest.
15' - 0-1. Zlatan Ibrahimović, PSG.
19' - 1-1. Lionel Messi, Barcelona.
41' - 2-1. Neymar, Barcelona.
77' - 3-1. Suarez, Barcelona.
