PARIS.
With the best starting 11 playing and Zlatan being well-rested, the expectations were high on PSG in the last game of the year.
They didn't meet them.
With great difficulty to create dangerous chances, a fighting Montpellier managed to keep a clean sheet and the game ended 0-0.
– We are having a bad period right now. I don't know why, really, Zlatan says after the game.
This was the type of game PSG needs to win to win Ligue 1. They weren't dangerous enough and even though Montpellier had a great defense, PSG should have created more chances. Zlatan was very involved in he first half but dropped out of the game the longer it went. He had a couple of half-chances but no real ones. 0-0 at home against Montpeiller is a big disappointment, luckliy they now have 3 weeks to prepare for when the league restarts in January.
NO REAL CHANCES IN THE FIRST HALF
PSG played quite well and passed the ball around like they use to. Motta to Verratti to Luiz to Motta to Matuidi to Zlatan to Motta and so on. Lucas made quite a few semi-dangerous breakthroughs and Zlatan was involved, but neither PSG nor Montpellier created any real real chances. Ibra had a freekick in the wall in the 21th, that was pretty much the only chance in the first half. The PSG crowd booed when the halftime whistle was blown. 0-0 at halftime.
BETTER BUT STILL NOT DANGEROUS
The second started better for PSG. The played straighter and was more determined to get into the penalty area. Zlatan was still involved alot in their passing and started to create chances. He had three half-chances the first 15 minutes and the game seemed to be PSG's. But then they stopped again. Cavani had an awful game and was subbed (and booed by the PSG-crowd), Lucas fell out in the second and the midfield didn't create much.
GOALLESS ZLATAN, GOALLESS PSG
And despite PSG's desperate efforts the longer the game went, they didn't manage to create enough dangerous opportunities to score. Zlatan struggled in the middle and didn't get as much space as earlier in the game. Bahebeck came on instead of Cavani and made an impression but not enough, the game ended 0-0.

"THE TEAM IS NOT PLAYING WELL"
The match against Montpellier ends 0-0, even though you have a big advantage both in ball possession and goal attempts. Why is it that you don't win tonight?
Already an hour into the match, the home crowd starts to show their discontent. Do you understand the outcry, or do you think they should show support when things are hard?
Last season, you won the home match against Montpellier 4-0 and you had 44 points after 19 played matches. This should be compared to the 38 points you have now. Is this year's edition of PSG not as good as last year's?
Now Ligue 1 goes on a Christmas break and your next league match is against Bastia on the 10th of January. How will you and PSG make the most of the break to be back in the best possible form for 2015?
