LORIENT.
One half was enough for PSG today.
They beat Lorient 2-1 in their first game since the tragic events in Paris.
Ongenda and Matuidi scored in the first half.
Zlatan had one assist.
– We won the match and that's the most important thing, Zlatan said after the game.
PSG came to Stade du Moustoir with a heavily disarmed team after the international break. Luiz, Verratti, Pastore and Di Maria were missing, Cavani was on the bench. That gave Ongenda chance to start and in the 26th minute he scored his first Ligue 1-goal for PSG. Van der Wiel's great cross reached him close to Lorient's goal and his right shot went passed goalkeeper Lecomte. 0-1, PSG.
ZLATAN-ASSIST TO MATUIDI
PSG extended their lead six minutes later. Zlatan set up the attack, got the ball back from Ongenda and got down to the goal line. He looked up, saw Matuidi coming perfectly in the penalty area and passed the Frenchman who placed the ball nicely next to Lecomte. 0-2, PSG in the 32nd minute which was the halftime result.
MOUKANDJO MADE IT 1-2
Almost nothing happened in the second half. The rain was pooring down and neither team created any chances. Matuidi was close once, but that was about it. Until the 82nd minute when the home crowd (who basically had fallen asleep) woke up. Philippoteaux's prefect cross got to Moukandjo in the penalty area and the new top goalscorer (passed Zlatan with his 10th goal) headed the ball behind Trapp. 1-2. Lorient pushed for an equalizer but failed to create any real chances. End result: 1-2 to PSG.
His first half in his 100th Ligue 1-game was everything you could expect. No signs of fatigue from the games against Denmark were shown and he carried the PSG-attack (who didn't have either Cavani, Di Maria or Pastore ) like expected. He was involved in the first goal and assisted to the second. His well-timed pass to Matuidi's goal was perfect, Zlatan's 5th Ligue 1-assist this season. He had three attempts, but none on goal.
Perhaps the Denmark-games showed in the second half because Zlatan took it very easy. The entire game was slow and lacked action and therefore so did Zlatan. Perhaps he was saving his body for his return to Malmö on Wednesday. He got a great chance at the end but his hard right shot was saved by Lecomte. What was most important today was the three points.
