MANCHESTER.
There is not much to say.
PSG are out of the Champions League 2015/16.
Congratulations, Manchester City.
– I'm very disappoined, Zlatan said after the game.
Due to several players out Laurent Blanc decided to change his formation severely, playing 3-5-2 and then having to change back to 4-3-3 due to another injury (Motta) before halftime. Manchester City beat PSG 3-2 in total after another important goal by de Bruyne.
NERVES IN THE FIRST HALF
Man City sank down deeper than expected and PSG took control of the game from the start. The importance of the game showed, both teams made alot of mistakes just like in Paris. PSG's best chance came from Ibra on a freekick in the 17th, Hart saved. Man City gradually grew into the game and created a couple of dangerous chances but thankfully didn't manage to score.
PENALTY-MISS BY AGÜERO
Last week Zlatan missed a penalty and tonight Man City's star Sergio Aguero did the same. He got open with Trapp after (another) mistake by Aurier and the PSG-keeper fouled him and got away with a yellow card. The nerves got the best out of Aguero who shot it wide. Thiago Motta had to leave the pitch injured just before halftime, the half ended 0-0.
DE BRUYNE AGAIN
PSG kept having the ball and Manchester City kept counterattacking in the second. Agüero had a couple of chances but it was Kevin de Bruyne who decided it. In the 76th minute he got the ball just outside PSG's box and placed it next to Trapp. 1-0 to Manchester City.
DESPERATE CHASE - NO GOALS
In the last fifteen minutes Paris desperately chased the two goals they needed. Cavani came through but Hart saved, Zlatan scored but was offside, van der Wiel crossed but was cleared. With several players out PSG didn't manage to score and are out of the Champions League 2015/16.
Started the game. With PSG's build-up play not working as smoothly as expected he came down deep and tried to help alot. Was pretty accurate in his passing and was close to getting open a few times but didn't create any chances in open play. The highlight of the half was a superhard freekick in the 17th minute , which would have gone just under the bar but Hart saved.
In the second he had another great freekick saved by Hart and in the very end he scored but was called for offside. Zlatan didn't get the chances he needed to score in this game and sadly has to say goodbye to the Champions League.
