SAINT-DENIS.
PSG are unbeatable in France.
Tonight the beat Lille 2-1 in the French League Cup final and won their 11th trophy since Zlatan came to the club 2012.
Ibra's 29th career trophy.
– The game was so and so, we didn't perform our best. I was tired today but I got to win my 29th title. They just stack up. I will be happy, proud and satisfied about this. I don't know how many I will end up with, there are many, Zlatan said after the game.
In the third consecutive league cup final PSG were in danger when Rabiot got sent off at 1-1 in the second half but Di Maria scored with fifteen minutes left and gave PSG the win.
PARIS CHANCE AFTER TWENTY SECONDS
PSG got an excellent chance already after twenty seconds. A ball found Zlatan in the box and Ibra took it down, passed back to Di Maria who shot directly, unfortunately too much straight on goalkeeper Enyeama. The first half was quite even with a couple of half chances for both teams but it was PSG who went to halftime with the 1-0-lead.
CONTROVERSIAl GOAL BY PSG
The goal was scored by Pastore in the 40th minute and it was a questionable goal. The ball got to Pastore after a corner and the Argentinian shot with a volley, the ball touched a Lille-player and tricked Enyeama, who perhaps was disturbed by a offside-standing Kurzawa. 1-0 to PSG at halftime.
FREEKICK EQUALIZER BY LILLE
Right in the beginning of the second half Rabiot stepped on a Lille-player just outside PSG's penalty box and caused a dangerous freekick for Lille. After some intense disussions on who should take it, Sidibé stepped forward and curled it straight through PSG's wall (which made Sirigu furious). 1-1, important goal for Lille.
RABIOT SENT OFF - DI MARIA GOAL
Adrien Rabiot got his second yellow card in the 70th minute after a foolish tackle on a Lille counterattack. The red card put Lille in the front seat but instead PSG took the lead three minutes later. Amadou completely misjudged a ball which made Di Maria completely alone with Enyeama. Di Maria was cool and placed it next to the keeper, 2-1 to PSG.
COMEBACK FOR VERRATTI
Laurent Blanc was active after Rabiot's card and Marco Verratti finally came back after being injured for two months. Lille took over the game in the end, Obbadi shot inches wide but PSG managed to defend their lead and are the League Cup champions 2015/16!
Started the game and played a good first half. He didn't drop down as much as in the last few games and threatened the Lille-defense with several dangerous runs. He almost assisted Di Maria to 1-0 already after twenty seconds with a nice pass and had a great chance after thirty minutes when he beautifully took down Marquinhos long ball but unfortunately placed the lob over the bar. That was his only attempt in the first half however.
He had two attempts early in the second, one header wide and one right foot shot which was blocked over the goal. You could see the urgency in him wanting to score and he was close to getting the ball in good positions a couple of times but this was not Zlatan's game, scoring wise.
But what's important is that PSG won another trophy, the third this season and Zlatan's 11th in total since he came to PSG 2012. His 29th career trophy.
