BOURNEMOUTH.
Zlatan has arrived in England.
He scored immediately in his first game and Manchester United beat Bournemouth 3-1 in the first Premier League-game of the season.
The Zlatan-effect was obvious, it couldn't have started better.
– A shot from long range. I just bow to the audience. What a kick you get out of them, Zlatan said after the game.
Zlatan's Premier League-debut couldn't have started better. He scored his first goal and Man Utd won comfortably 3-1 against Bournemouth away.
MATA-GOAL AFTER BOURNEMOUTH-MISTAKE
The first half lacked big chances from both teams and Manchester United didn't perform as wished. Rooney failed to serve Zlatan and Martial and the United-attacks were aborted quite easily. But United were saved by Bournemouth's Simon Francis just before halftime. His weak home pass got to Mata, who's shot was saved by Boruc, but on the rebound Francis was there again and assisted Mata, who scored in the open net. 0-1 to Manchester United at halftime.
ROONEY THEN ZLATAN'S FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE-GOAL
Manchester United stepped up in the second half. First Wayne Rooney made it 2-0 with a header on a Anthony Martial-assist from a missed shot. Then... ZLATAN SCORED. Just a minute after a dangerous freekick he took the ball to the right from quite far out and shot a low, wellplaced right shot, unreachable for Boruc. 0-3 to Man Utd, Zlatan's first Premier League-goal!
BOURNEMOUTH SCORED BUT MAN UTD WERE TOO STRONG
Bournemouth pushed after Zlatan's goal and in the 69th minute Adam Smith nicely made it 1-3. After the goal Bournemouth got confidence and took over the game a bit, but United had it under control and won 1-3. A convincing, important first victory for José Mourinho's Manchester United.
Started the game and showed his physical ability already in the 13th minute when he jumped in mercelessly in the box and knocked down two Bournmeouth-defenders. His first half was quiet, the balls to him were often relatively poor and he wasn't able to create any chances. His passing was however decent and the problem was rather the lack of back-up than Zlatan's actual performance.
In the second when Man Utd played better offensively he started to look more dangerous. After twenty minutes Martial got a freekick just outside Bournemouth's penalty area and Zlatan stepped up. A decent hit forced Boruc made a great save but only a minute later, Zlatan scored his first Premier League-goal.
He got the ball to the right about 27 meters from Bournemouth's goal and shot a low, extremely wellplaced shot which Boruc couldn't stop. His first goal in the Premier League.
In the last few minutes he tricked a Bournemouth-defender beautifully on the sideline and then could have scored, but chose to pass instead and the ball was cleared.
Zlatan's first Premier League-game ends with him scoring and Man Utd winning comfortably 3-1, it couldn't have started better!
